How Southampton felt about selling Tyler Dibling to Everton and Mateus Fernandes to West Ham

How Southampton felt about selling Tyler Dibling to Everton and Mateus Fernandes to West Ham.

Southampton had two transfer sagas this summer as they tried to stave off interest in Tyler Dibling and Mateus Fernandes.

By the end of the transfer window, the Saints had lost both players to Premier League clubs, with Tyler Dibling leaving for Everton and Mateus Fernandes joining West Ham.

Southampton fans may have been thrilled that the club was able to replace them with numerous new players, including Finn Azaz from Middlesbrough and Tom Fellows from West Brom.

The Saints’ ideas have been examined following the departures of Tyler Dibling and Mateus Fernandes.

Southampton’s feelings on the exit of their stars

Losing star players is never easy, especially when Southampton’s goal is to return to the Premier League; yet, a team relegated to the Championship should expect to lose these stars.

According to EFL Analysis’ chief football correspondent, Graeme Bailey, Southampton were satisfied with the Dibling and Fernandes signings.

He stated, “I think £80 million for those two; they’re very happy with that.” “Obviously, it enabled them to complete the Tom Fellows and Finn Azaz trades, and I believe those two are better suited to play in the Championship than the two who left.

“So, I think Southampton are very happy with the business they’ve done.”

Future exits expected for Southampton

While Fernandes and Dibling were the most prominent players to leave Southampton this summer, they were not the only ones who desired to return to top-flight football.

The most noteworthy names to desire out were Joe Aribo and Sam Edozie; however, neither player received an exit, with Rangers and Belgium anticipated to sign them, respectively.

While they returned to training this week, there will be anxiety by Taylor Harwood-Bellis’ words as he seeks a return to the Premier League, which may not be with Southampton in the near future.
