Human remains found in Aberdeenshire building after huge fire identified.
The remains were recognised as a woman who was present on the property when the fire broke out earlier this month, and authorities confirmed that her family has been notified.
The remains discovered inside a residence following a massive fire in an Aberdeenshire community have been identified.
The fire broke out around 5 a.m. on Thursday, September 18 at a property in the Seatown neighbourhood of Gardenstown, and emergency crews, including firefighters, police, and paramedics, rushed to the scene shortly after.
Five days after the blaze, on Tuesday, September 23, human remains were discovered within the structure, and the family of a woman who was on the property was notified.
Following the fire, one guy was rushed to the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Police Scotland reported a fire at a property in Seatown, Gardenstown, approximately 5 a.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2025. Human remains were later discovered on the site on Tuesday, September 23.
Formal identification has now occurred, and the family of the woman who was on the property has been notified. “One man was brought to the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.
“Enquiries have been carried out and the fire is not being treated as suspicious.”
