‘Ibiza Final Boss’ threatens legal action against Aberdeen nightclub promoter over ‘misleading’ advert
‘Ibiza Final Boss’ threatens legal action against Aberdeen nightclub promoter over ‘misleading’ advert.
An Aberdeen party promoter has been faced with legal action after posting a “misleading” advertisement for a “Ibiza Final Boss” club night.
Organisers of a party scheduled to take place at Babylon nightclub on Alford Place were presented with a legal threat after it was claimed that an advertisement they uploaded was “misleading” punters into assuming the internet sensation would be there.
It comes as the Ibiza Final Boss, actual name Jack Kay, prepares to make a true appearance in Aberdeen at the Aura nightclub on Bridge Place during Fresher’s Week.
The Instagram account “Vanity Fridays” utilised the social media figure’s image to promote a “Ibiza Final Boss Rave.”
That drew the attention of the influencer’s management team, who accused the promoter, “Vanity Nights,” of “conning the public” into believing he would attend.
A document obtained by The Press and Journal requested that the post be removed and threatened to charge a “licence fee” on any money raised by the event.
After the promoter received the legal threat, the offending post was removed from Instagram.
It has since been replaced by a new post with his likeness removed and a more generic image.
The night is still believed to be continuing on.
Ibiza Final Boss image used in ‘good faith’ for Aberdeen event
The Press and Journal contacted the promoter and stated that the image was used “in good faith.” They announced: “It’s a costume party.
“The original artwork was used in good faith as part of a viral moment that revealed the theme. “We’ve since updated it to make that clear.” We contacted Neon Management, who represent Mr Kay, for further information, but did not receive a response.
Who is the ‘Ibiza Final Boss?’
The Ibiza Final Boss sprang to prominence after a viral video surfaced of him dancing in a club on the Spanish party island.
He was spotted wearing a sleeveless black top, a gold chain, sunglasses, and a very unique bowl haircut. The video was picked up by TikTok and has received over 24 million views.
He is referred to as the Ibiza Final Boss due to his appearance. His nickname implied that he is the personification of a British Ibiza partygoer.
