In Russia, another 100 electric buses to replace diesel buses on capital routes.

Russian-made electric buses are replacing diesel buses on Moscow routes. The modifications are being implemented to minimise emissions and increase passenger comfort.

This was confirmed to TV BRICS by the press staff of its partner, State Unitary Enterprise Mosgortrans.

The company will receive an additional 100 LiAZ-6274 electric buses made in Russia. They will be delivered to Chertanovo’s operational site. More than 470 LiAZ electric buses are currently in operation in Moscow.

It is mentioned that next-generation transportation provides more comfortable conditions for passengers due to roomy interiors, smooth mobility, and low levels of noise. Concurrently, a fast-charging station for electric buses (UBZS) is being tested.

The UBZS, which has an inverted pantograph, is an ultra-fast charging station for electric buses that use unique contact charging technology.

Unlike traditional systems, the pantograph (current collector) is mounted on the charging station’s mast rather than the electric bus itself, and contact rails are fitted on the vehicle’s roof.

Earlier, it was claimed that the Russian capital would receive five electric buses with self-driving capabilities.
