“It’s a helter-skelter league, and you won’t be able to carry the ball and defeat four or five people; you may have to perform the dirty work.

Sometimes you won’t be in games, but you might pop up and score the winning goal or create that magical moment.

“I’ve told many of the young boys in the dressing room, ‘Don’t be a one-month wonder.'” You can’t play two or three games in a month, perform admirably, and then disappear for the next few.

“If you want to be strong players and perform consistently at this level and better, you must do so week after week. It is critical that they instill that mindset rather than simply having a lot of talent, which will only get you so far.
