Ipswich portal plans ‘well underway’ with upcoming opening.

The borough council has announced that plans for the UK’s first portal are “well underway” in the town centre.

Ipswich’s Cornhill will soon house a portal that connects the town to other portals throughout the world, including Philadelphia, Dublin, Vilnius, Lublin, and Piaui.

Initially, planning records said that they thought the installation would begin in September and be completed in October.

Ipswich Borough Council acknowledged that “plans for the portal’s installation are well underway” and that they will share more “once a date is confirmed in the coming weeks”.
