Ipswich Town teens create banner to honour Kevin Beattie.
A group of kids who previously constructed a banner for Sir Bobby Robson have returned to pay tribute to another Ipswich Town icon.
On the anniversary of Kevin Beattie’s death on September 16, a group of 13-year-olds and two pals gathered to remember the Town star.
Dylan Patrick and Tommy Reed, both from Chantry, along with friends Stan and Freddie, raised a banner in memory of the Town defender at his statue outside Portman Road.

Tommy stated, “Just like we did with our banner for Sir Bobby Robson, we wanted to show our gratitude and appreciation for an Ipswich great.
“We’re so proud that we can do this for our club, I’ve been making them for a couple years now and we want to make them bigger and better every time.”
The organisation released the banner in front of Kevin Beattie’s statue, which was erected and installed in front of Portman Road in December 2021.
This comes after the youths, known as Tifo Town, unveiled their first banner in tribute of Sir Bobby Robson.
The boys credit their German teacher at school, who founded Blue Action, with motivating them to form their own fan group.

Despite the unquestionable popularity of their Sir Bobby banner, many claimed it was designed in a difficult-to-read font.
Tommy explained, “It was fantastic to see our first banner gain so much attention from the fanbase, and we greatly appreciate the feedback we received from it. “It’s helped us improve and make better tifos going forward and we like to think this one is even better than the last one.”
Tommy stated that Tifo Town has already developed all of their banners for the season, with the goal of producing and releasing a new one each month of the campaign.
