Joao Ferreira leaves Watford for Ligue 2 side Saint-Etienne.
Watford have confirmed Joao Ferreira’s sale to Saint-Etienne for a fee of €3 million plus add-ons, according to the Watford Observer.
The full-back leaves after making just five appearances in two and a half years with the club, all of which came in the second half of the 2022/23 season.
Ferreira has spent the last two seasons on loan at Udinese and Braga before moving permanently to the French second tier club.

João Ferreira has moved to French club Saint-Étienne on a permanent transfer for an undisclosed fee.

Mileta Rajovic and Francisco Sierralta were sold for more than £4 million combined, while the departures of Ferreira, Ryan Porteous, and Antonio Tikvic increase incomings to around £10 million.
The club also received a large sum from Brighton as a result of Joao Pedro’s sale to Chelsea, which boosted the club’s finances without the need to sell a first-team player.
It is understood that the Hornets are content with Jeremy Ngakia and Ryan Andrews as right-back options for the 2025/26 season.
Ferreira scored on his full debut against Rotherham in January 2023, but struggled to make an impact after that. He is now travelling to his fourth different country in four seasons.
