KELMAN: ‘WE JUST WANT TO GET GOING’.

Summer signings Charlie Kelman is excited for Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship opener against Watford at The Valley.

The 23-year-old striker comes to the Addicks after a successful loan spell at Leyton Orient, where he scored 27 goals and won the Sky Bet League One Golden Boot.

“I’m sure all of the fans are excited to be back in the Championship,” Kelman told reporters. “All of the boys are excited, and we just want to get started. Everyone is excited about it, and we are all discussing it at training.

We’re thrilled and focused. We understand it will be difficult, but we are looking forward to it.

“Obviously, I had played Charlton a few times last year. The manager was supporting the project through signings and the environment he’s creating with the players, which I saw firsthand last year while playing against them:

togetherness, grit, and determination. It was something I wanted to participate in right away. “I want to make a name for myself in the Championship.”

“I’m going to attack the season with open arms and see what comes with it,” he said later.

“I’m just going to enjoy it; obviously, I have goals and aspirations, and I’ll be able to discuss them later, but for now, I’m just going to keep my head down, stay focused, and try to achieve as many goals as possible.”I’m going to attack the season with open arms and see what comes with it,” he continued.

“I’m just going to enjoy it – obviously I’ve got my goals and my aspirations, and eventually I’ll be able to speak about them, but I’m just going to keep my head down for now, keep focused and try and get as many goals as I can.
