Kenan Bilalovic an Aberdeen transfer target as Jimmy Thelin races to register Swedish winger for Europa League.
Varnamo’s 20-year-old winger, a Sweden youth international, could cost more than £500,000.
Aberdeen are considering a move for Varnamo winger Kenan Bilalovic. Jimmy Thelin is looking to expand his squad before Friday’s European signing deadline.
They are interested in Bilalovic, and sources in Sweden claim that a deal worth around £550,000 is close to being finalised.
The 20-year-old is a Swedish youth international who has appeared in recent Under-21 squads but has yet to be capped at that level.
Bilalovic is a left winger and would compete with Topi Keskinen on that side. He rose through the ranks at Varnamo and had a loan spell at Skovde last season.
The Scottish Cup winners had previously bid for Ajaccio winger Moussa Soumano, but he decided to join Dutch club NAC Breda. Aberdeen are also pursuing a deal for AC Milan striker Marko Lazetic.
A deal has been reached with the Italian side, which will also result in a 20% sell-on in the future. The Dons are now attempting to obtain a visa and a work permit for the Serbian under-21 squad.
If Aberdeen can close both of these deals, they will look for two more before the window closes.
They can also sign two wildcards after the deadline, ahead of next week’s Europa League play-off.
