Lewis Cox’s predicted West Brom line-up v Blackburn – with attacking decision

Lewis Cox’s predicted West Brom line-up v Blackburn – with attacking decision.

Ryan Mason, Albion’s head coach, is currently deciding on his first competitive lineup. On Saturday, the Baggies host Blackburn Rovers, who are managed by former manager Valerien Ismael, in the Championship curtain-raiser.

With less than a month remaining in the transfer window, Albion do not have the largest squad in the Championship, and a couple of injury concerns ahead of the new season mean Mason’s options are limited.

Mason must make one selection decision in the attacking department.

New signing Aune Heggebo, who cost £4.7 million, is a good bet to start. He did so and performed well against Rayo Vallecano last weekend, while Daryl Dike is injured and Josh Maja is not yet fully fit, having missed the previous friendly due to a reaction to his comeback at Lincoln.

Maja was photographed in training this week, which is encouraging. Just behind is almost certain to be Tom Fellows on the right flank, and Mason would be foolish not to start Isaac Price, who was a substitute but shone from the bench against Rayo.

There isn’t much to choose between Karlan Grant and Mikey Johnston in the other attacking role, over on the left.
