Liverpool should now know which Nottingham Forest player they must sign and it’s not Elliot Anderson.

Nottingham Forest deserved to win over Liverpool.

The Reds did not return from the international break as fans had hoped, with their performance against Forest being one of the season’s worst.

They started brightly, but after they fell behind 1-0, the wheels came off, and the away side took control of the game.

Murillo was excellent against Liverpool

Liverpool’s defence has been a major issue this season, and this was clear again against Nottingham Forest. Sean Dyche’s club, on the other hand, excelled in this area and remained steadfast throughout, thanks in large part to Murillo.

Not only was he visually appealing, but his statistics support this, with the Colombian winning both of his tackles, all three of his ground duels, and two of his three ground duels, according to sofascore.

In addition, he made 13 clearances, blocked three shots, recovered three balls, and scored a really fine goal, making this a true man of the match performance.

Liverpool has already been associated with Murillo, but his performance has just added to his appeal, even if he would come at a high cost.

He may only be five feet, 11 inches tall, which is short for a centre-back, but he makes his presence known, and the fact that he is only 23 means he still has lots of time to develop.

Ibrahima Konate’s performance only showed further why Liverpool need Murillo

Murillo was not only brilliant, but Ibrahima Konate was extremely awful, with the Frenchman making blunder after error.

He conceded a cheap corner for the first goal and was fortunate to have one ruled out due to poor defending, with the 26-year-old being substituted in the second half.

With contract negotiations still ongoing, the timing of his bad form is unfortunate, but recruiting another defender becomes even more important.

Marc Guehi is the obvious pick, but given how brilliantly Murillo performed against the Reds, the Colombian may be worth considering instead, or perhaps better than Guehi.
