Luton will look to ease Chong in gently as winger returns to training.
Luton manager Matt Bloomfield will be gentle with returning Tahith Chong as he looks to ease him back into the first-team squad this season.
The 25-year-old has not appeared in a competitive game for the Hatters since coming on in the second half of the Hatters’ 5-3 defeat at West Bromwich Albion on the final day of last season in May, which resulted in Town’s relegation from the Championship.
Although there were many rumours that Chong would leave Kenilworth Road over the summer, this did not come to fruition, as Chong suffered an injury shortly after returning to pre-season training.
The winger, who was signed as Town prepared for the Premier League in the summer of 2023, has played 69 times and scored seven goals, but injuries have limited him to just seven appearances for Bloomfield since he was appointed manager in January, starting only twice, in the 1-1 draw at Stoke City and the 1-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers.
