M27 images depict a horrific collision in which a “number of casualties” are gravely hurt.
It has now been disclosed that a “number of casualties” have suffered “serious injuries.” Emergency personnel are seen in photos taken at the scene beside a severely damaged car that has debris on the hard shoulder and has lost its roof and side panels.
Two vehicles are being loaded onto a recovery vehicle that is also present at the scene of the collision. As the problem was handled, drivers experienced lengthy delays of almost fifty minutes. A representative for the police has now provided information about the collision: “We were called at 12.38pm to a report of a collision on the M27 eastbound between junctions 8 and 9.” There were three vehicles involved, and there have been reports of significant injuries.
“A multi-vehicle RTC on the M27 eastbound between junctions eight and nine was reported to us at 12:45 this afternoon,” a Hampshire fire department representative stated. Currently on the scene are crews from Redbridge, Cosham, and Hightown. Paramedics from the South Central Ambulance Service are present and tending to several victims. “Three lanes (of four) are closed on the M27 eastbound between J8 Bursledon and J9 Whiteley following a multi-vehicle collision,” stated National Highways South East earlier.
“Every emergency service is present.” One lane of traffic is moving past the incident, however there are still reports of delays of up to forty-five minutes. According to National Highways, all lanes are now open. After a multi-vehicle collision, all lanes on the #M27 eastbound between J8 #Bursledon and J9 #Whiteley have reopened. A post on X read, “Thank you for your patience. Have a safe journey forward.”
Prior to this, AA Traffic News reported: “M27 Eastbound from J8 A3024 (Bursledon / Hamble) to J9 A27 Segensworth Link Road (Segensworth / Fareham) experienced lengthy delays and two lanes closed due to recovery work and a multi-vehicle crash.” congestion on the A27 Bridge Road between Sarisbury and Bursledon.
