Main road reopens after being blocked by tree.
A major highway into the city centre has reopened after being blocked by a fallen tree.
The big tree blocked both directions of Yarmouth Road near Harvey Lane in Thorpe St Andrew, on the suburbs of Norwich.
A police sign and traffic cones were placed near the incident. Norfolk Police said it received a call from a member of the public at 04:40 BST about “reports of a tree down,” and the council’s roads department arranged for a tree surgeon to deal with it.
According to First Bus, buses were diverted during the tree-cutting operation but resumed normal service shortly after 09:30.
