Police have closed Jimmy Hill Way in Coventry.
Police have closed a key Coventry highway due to an ongoing incident this morning (August 29). Officers have responded to Jimmy Hill Way in Longford. Concerns were expressed about the well-being of a woman about 7.15 a.m. today (August 29).
Police were called, and Jimmy Hill Way was closed from Holbrook Way to Rowleys Green Lane. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and plan their routes in advance. Traffic is currently backed up on Hen Lane and Wheelwright Lane.
Buses operated by National Express were also disrupted. Service 3, which operates from Arena Shopping Park to Warwickshire Shopping Park, will be diverted via Parkgate Road, Parkville Highway, Roland Avenue, and Wheelwright Lane.
A spokesman for Coventry Police said: “Jimmy Hill Way in Coventry, between Holbrook Way Roundabout to Rowleys Green Roundabout, is temporarily closed due to concerns for a woman’s welfare.
Motorists are encouraged to take alternative routes. West Midlands Roads stated on X:
“Allow extra time for your journey and consider alternative routes where possible.”A representative for National Express Coventry said:
“There is an ongoing incident on Jimmy Hill Way and Hen Lane.” Service 3 will be diverted along Parkgate Road, Parkville Highway, Roland Avenue, and Wheelwright Lane. Sorry for any inconvenience to your journey.”
