Man bailed after Baden Street, Hartlepool incident.
A guy arrested on charges of assault and arson after armed police swarmed a street has been granted bail while investigations continue.
Officers from Cleveland Police were dispatched to Baden Street in Hartlepool at 7.10 p.m. on Saturday, September 13. The police said they received allegations that a man armed with a bladed weapon entered an address and assaulted two people.
Cleveland Police said multiple people were removed from the property, and photos from the scene show armed cops aiming their rifles at the address. Throughout the event, a massive police cordon was in place.
A small fire broke out inside the residence around 8.55 p.m., but it was extinguished when armed officers forced access. A 44-year-old male was detained on suspicion of Section 18 assault, affray, and arson with the intent to endanger life.
On Monday (September 15), Cleveland Police stated that the individual was interviewed and subsequently released on conditions while investigations continue.
