Man in court charged with firearms offences after Aberdeen Royal Infirmary evacuated.

The hospital’s accident and emergency department was evacuated on Friday evening following an incident that resulted in two persons requiring treatment.

A 37-year-old male has now appeared in court. A man has appeared in court accused with various charges, including assault and firearms offences, following an incident at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary that saw two people ‘assaulted’ and the A&E department evacuated.

Emergency services, including officers from Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, were on the site at 5.30pm on Friday, October 10. After the incident, two people received treatment. The degree of their injuries is presently unknown.

The A&E department reopened around 7.40 p.m. on Friday evening, after NHS Grampian advised people to only go if they were in an emergency. Piotr Huczynski, 37, appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today, facing 14 charges.

These included assault, reckless discharge of a firearm, drug abuse, and road traffic offences. Huczynski did not make a plea at his hearing. He was committed for further investigation and remanded into jail.

He is set to appear in court in the next eight days. According to a Police Scotland statement, a 37-year-old man was detained and charged in connection with the assault of two people at an Aberdeen hospital.

“Emergency services were summoned around 5.30 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025, and two people were treated on the site. “He is scheduled to appear in Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday, October 13, 2025.” Enquiries are ongoing.
