Man taken to hospital after incident at Dundee University swimming pool.
On Monday afternoon, emergency services descended on the campus. A man was rushed to hospital following an incident at Dundee University’s swimming facility.
Multiple emergency services, including police, were dispatched to the university campus on Monday afternoon.
A paramedic response unit, an ambulance special response team, and an ambulance were dispatched to the pool shortly after 1.30 p.m.
The university stated that there was a “medical incident” at the facility, which is located close to the Dundee University Students’ Union (DUSA).
At approximately 3 p.m., one student passed by the site. He told The Courier, “I saw three police cars and three ambulances, including an IRU ambulance, drive right in front of the DUSA building.”
“I’m not sure what was going on, but everyone nearby seemed concerned because of the overwhelming response.
“Officers and ambulance staff appeared to be heading towards the swimming pool back door of the sports union. “I heard words of an accident at the pool.”
A Scottish Ambulance Service representative stated, “We received a call at 1.34pm to attend an incident on Balfour Street in Dundee.
“We sent an ambulance, a paramedic response unit (PRU), and a special operations response team (SORT) to the location.
“We transported one patient to Ninewells Hospital.” Police Scotland has been asked for comment.
