Milewood expands portfolio with acquisition of Beech Cliffe Limited in Rotherham.

Milewood has expanded its speciality care portfolio with the acquisition of Beech Cliffe Limited, which operates two established services in Rotherham:

Beech Cliffe and Beech Cliffe Grange. Both homes have a ‘good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission and offer personal care to adults with learning disabilities and sensory impairments.

Their emphasis on providing high-quality, person-centred support is consistent with Milewood’s aim to provide specialised care for people with complex needs.

The purchase follows the retirement of long-time owners Paul and Sarah Ratcliffe, who have established a great reputation in the community.

Milewood intends to continue that heritage by investing in the homes’ settings and facilities to enable ongoing improvement.

The homes, which together offer 20 beds, will now benefit from being part of a bigger specialist group, giving them access to additional resources, knowledge, and operational support from Milewood’s headquarters team.

Milewood now provides 47 care and support services throughout the country.

Martyn Heginbotham, CEO of Milewood, stated: “Beech Cliffe and Beech Cliffe Grange have long been known for the high quality of care they offer. We are thrilled to welcome them to the Milewood family and build on their success.

Our priority will be to assist the staff teams and invest in the homes’ settings to improve the care experience for residents.” Beech Cliffe Ltd’s exiting owners, Paul and Sarah Ratcliffe, expressed their confidence that Martyn and the Milewood team are the ideal successors.

We leave with complete faith that under Milewood’s leadership, our residents will continue to live their best lives as the two services thrive.

It has been an honour and a pleasure to be a member of Beech Cliffe Ltd for the past 20 years, but we now know that a bright future, which had concerned us before to meeting Milewood, has been ensured for everyone involved.”
