Millwall boss ‘confident’ ahead of Swansea City clash – believes Watford victory provides momentum for three-game run before international break

Millwall boss ‘confident’ ahead of Swansea City clash – believes Watford victory provides momentum for three-game run before international break.

ALEX Neil claimed he was confident heading into every game, including Millwall’s trip to Swansea City tomorrow.

This season, the Lions are unbeaten on the road, having won at Sheffield United and Norwich City while drawing 1-1 with rivals Charlton.

The Swans are similarly impressive at home, going unbeaten in their last 10 games at Swansea. com Stadium, dating back to March. When asked by NewsAtDen if his team’s away form gave him confidence coming into the match, Neil replied: “I’m quite confident, regardless of the game we’re going into.

You’ve got other periods throughout the season where there may be a little bit of a drop in confidence or form, or we may need to change how we play a lot, we may need to freshen things up, or we may have a lot of injuries, or anything. “That will happen more frequently throughout the season than it has in the past.
I mean, there will be parts and pieces that frustrate us. We might not perform to our full potential.
We may lose a few players, but they are just issues we must accept and deal with as the season progresses.” Millwall won their first league home game of the season on Monday, defeating Watford 1-0 thanks to a first-half free kick from Camiel Neghli.
Neil was asked if he was still as pleased with the outcome as he was just after the game. ” When you take everything into consideration:
Neil remarked, “First home win in the league this season, first clean sheet at home, Camiel scored a really good goal, had other chances in the game and should have scored, should have had a penalty.” “Certainly, now that I’ve seen it back, it was a stonewall decision for me.”
Then I thought we defended really well; Steven [Benda] parried a long-range shot, and then he had the one at the end when we lost a header from a corner, which was pretty much all they had in the game.
“At this point in the season, like with most others, results are more important than anything else. I believe that if we earn that win, it will prepare us for the next three games before the break.
“The fact that we still have strikers who can go on the scoresheet and start firing. So we’ve already won three games, and with more to come, which will undoubtedly improve as time goes on, I believe we’re in a really strong position.”
