Millwall boss on ‘what will speed up’ process of signing new players.
ALEX Neil stated that if Japhet Tanganga leaves for Sheffield United, Millwall will look to sign players, and that the Lions’ current injury woes will hasten the process.
Millwall went to Bramall Lane today without six players who were in the matchday squad against Middlesbrough last week:
Tanganga, Billy Mitchell, Alfie Doughty, Macualay Langstaff, Ra’ees Bangura-Williams, and Femi Azeez, but they beat the Blades 1-0 in an impressive performance.
Luke Cundle scored in the first half after reacting first to Mihailo Ivanovic’s knockdown, and the Lions held on in the second half for a crucial three points.
After the game, NewsAtDen asked Neil if Tanganga’s potential departure would result in additional signings. “Absolutely,” Neil replied.
“If players leave, then naturally we need to replace them.” I believe that the fact that we have so many injuries right now will obviously accelerate that process for other positions.
That is unfortunate. “I know people will say, ‘Are we training them too hard? Are we not training them enough?
All that kind of stuff. But my response will be Tristan Crama, Jake Cooper, Japhet Tanganga, Massimo Luongo, [Casper] De Norre, and Mihailo Ivanovic. They’re all fit. They’re all playing. They’re always ready.
“So, unfortunately for us, we picked up some injuries again, which is extremely frustrating, but the other ones appear to be fine and continue to play.
So for us right now, we need to resolve that and help ourselves in the remaining games because we’re definitely light at the moment.”

So for us just now, we need to resolve that and help ourselves going into the remaining games because we’re certainly light at the moment.”
