Neil Trennan: Police issue major update in hunt for missing prisoner, reported seen in Sheffield.
Police have issued a vital update on the search for a man who was discovered in Sheffield after going missing from prison.
Police launched a search for Neil Trennan after he failed to return to Lincolnshire prison after being granted a day’s leave.
However, police announced this afternoon that he had been located after a thorough investigation and was caught today.
Lincolnshire Police said in a statement: “We are pleased to inform that wanted man Neil Trennan has been captured.
“He was discovered by a member of the public and apprehended by our colleagues in North Yorkshire today.” Trennan, 60, failed to return to North Sea Camp on Thursday, July 10.
“We’d want to thank everyone who has contacted us with information and possible sightings and shared our request. This information has helped our teams find Trennan.”
South Yorkshire Police have released a statement stating that they are no longer looking for Neil Trennan, who was wanted earlier this week.
North Yorkshire Police detained him today (Sunday, July 13). “Thank you to everyone who shared our appeals and provided valuable information.”
