The England Under 21s defeated their Republic of Ireland opponents 2-0 on Friday thanks to the efforts of Lewis Hall and Lewis Miley.
Lee Carsley is sharing the minutes ahead of this weekend’s return to Premier League action.
Ahead of Saturday’s match against Man City, the England Under 21s manager made many changes, including benching the Newcastle United pair.
After Mubama and Nwaneri gave England a 2-0 lead in the Young Lions’ away match against Slovakia, Lewis Hall came off the bench on minute 61, and Lewis Miley got his chance on minute 68.
In this U21 European Championship group qualifier, the United do contribute to England’s eventual 4-0 triumph. At the midway point of the six-team group, Lee Carsley’s team had a perfect five victories from five, two points ahead of Slovakia, their closest rivals, and England, who have a match against them.
It’s great to see Newcastle United players participate, and from a NUFC standpoint, Lee Carsley seems to have handled it flawlessly.
Lewis Hall and Lewis Miley both played well in the two games, but they are now ready for the Premier League match on Saturday.
Lewis Hall is receiving special attention from Newcastle United supporters because he must be getting close to full health and Eddie Howe believes that there is less possibility of any new injury problems. With Dan Burn’s ban, this is ideal timing for Hall to start at left back against Man City.
The Newcastle United players’ November 2025 international calendar is as follows:
Thursday, November 13
Italy 2, Moldova 0
In this World Cup group qualifier, Sandro Tonali played the entire game, and even though the away team didn’t score until the 88th minute, they deserved the final 2-0 victory. Despite dominating the whole game (28 v 3 on shots, 13 v 1 corners, and 65 v 3 player touches of the ball in the opposition area), Tonali, a crucial midfield player, struggled to turn that into goals.
Serbia 0, England 2
Saka’s elegant goal gave the home team a halftime lead in England’s overwhelming performance. Up until the 90th minute, when Eze matched Saka’s finish quality, Dan Burn watched from the bench as the Three Lions failed to take their chances.
Friday, November 14
Germany 2 Luxembourg 0
Nick Woltemade scored two excellent goals in the second half, one with his left boot and the other with his right, propelling Germany to this pivotal 2-0 triumph. To automatically go to the 2026 World Cup finals, they now only need to defeat Slovakia at home on Monday.
While Woltemade played the entire game, it was great to see Malick Thiaw enter the field as well. He was substituted in the 79th minute.

This U21s European Championship group qualifying begins with Lewis Miley and Lewis Hall. Lewis Hall is the best player on the field, and both are giving outstanding performances. Divin Mubama’s penalty on minute sixty was won by Hall, and Tyrique George’s goal in extra time sealed the victory. After 70 minutes, Hall left, and five minutes later, Miley did the same.
Saturday, November 15
Senegal 0, Brazil 2
In this friendly at the Emirates Stadium, Bruno Guimaraes is performing admirably.
No Brazilian player had a higher rating than the NUFC star’s 8 out of 10, which Goal described as “a complete performance by a complete player” for his outstanding offense and defense.

During the first 78 minutes of the game, which saw the Sweden midfield battle to get control and the defense showing signs of weakness, Anthony Elanga started and played. Emil Krafth was not utilized as a substitute, and the Newcastle United winger left the game at 78 minutes with a score of 3-1. With just one point from five group games thus far, Sweden will finish last unless they defeat Slovenia on Tuesday, which is a startling development. However, because of their recent Nations League performances, the Swedes have been fortunate enough to earn a spot in the play-offs for these World Cup finals.
Sunday, November 16
England 2, Albania 0
This is the Newcastle defender’s fifth England appearance, and Dan Burn is making his fourth start. England was the superior team in the final World Cup group qualifier, but they weren’t quite as fluid with seven changes. Dan Burn played a respectable shift and gave Bellingham a fantastic opportunity to win. Harry Kane secured yet another England victory with two goals in the last sixteen minutes of regular time.
Norway 4, Italy 1
Sandro Tonali did not take a chance, as Gattuso promised, since a yellow card would have resulted in his suspension for the World Cup finals play-offs in March 2026.
Prior to their last group match, there were just three points separating the two sides, but Norway had a 17-goal lead over GD, thus Italy would have needed to win by nine goals to advance automatically. Italy took the lead, but a below-strength home team was soundly defeated by four goals in the second half, including two from Haaland.
Monday, November 17
Slovakia 0, Germany 6
With a powerful header from Nick Woltemade past Martin Dubravka, Germany qualified for the 2026 World Cup finals and never looked back. The striker has scored ten goals for his team and nation this season. Gnabry, Sane (x2), Baku, and Ouedraogo scored the remaining five goals.
While his NUFC colleague Malick Thiaw entered the game in the 64th minute and maintained a clean sheet despite receiving a yellow card, Big Nick played the entire game.
Tuesday, November 18
Slovakia U21s 0 England U21s 4
In this U21s European Championship group qualifier, Lewis Miley and Lewis Hall were substituted in the second half.
When the two were substituted, England was ahead by two goals, and they helped the team win by four goals on the road.
