Eddie Howe maintains that Newcastle United and the Three Lions are not at odds over Anthony Gordon’s inclusion in Thomas Tuchel’s England team for the meaningless World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Albania.
Gordon is undergoing a diagnostic for a hip issue that caused him to leave Athletic Bilbao early, and it was stated that he is unlikely to play Brentford this weekend. Nevertheless, Tuchel included him in his 25-man roster for the last two World Cup qualifying matches.
Nick Pope was called back into the team, and Tuchel still has a lot of plans for Dan Burn. Elliot Anderson, a young player from Whitley Bay, continues his international studies with the Three Lions after being rested by Nottingham Forest. “I feel relaxed about him being with England,” Howe stated today.
Whether or not he is fit, everything will be done with England’s approval. We’ll collaborate to identify Anthony’s finest options.
“We are getting him scanned and awaiting the results, but we don’t believe it is a significant injury.
“I think there is every chance he might miss our game on Sunday but we will give him every opportunity to be fit.”
