‘No major development’ – Cold water thrown on Sheffield United player transfer claims

According to a June 26 Dagblad story, PSV Eindhoven is interested in signing Sheffield United’s Gustavo Hamer this summer. They said that the former Feyenoord player wishes to return to the Netherlands.

A week later, SoccerNews.nl reported that the Brazilian would rather join Leeds United than the Eredivisie. Since then, there hasn’t been any particular coverage of the Whites.

PSV is preparing to make an offer to Sheffield United on X, formerly known as Twitter, according to a story published by journalist Sacha Tavolieri on Thursday.

Then, on X, Sacha Tavolieri’s claim was mainly denied by journalist Rik Elfrink of Eindhovens Dagblad, who has many ties at PSV. He asserts that there hasn’t been “any major development” in the Dutch champions’ pursuit of the 28-year-old.

The Blades midfielder is still a target for PSV, but Elfrink says the deal isn’t “hot right now.”

This is because the Eindhoven club is unlikely to make an offer to Sheffield United unless they personally agree with Hamer. That hasn’t occurred yet, and PSV has other names on their midfield target list.

In two years, Hamer’s contract with the Championship team will come to an end.
