Kenyans have taken a tough stance against English Championship club Charlton Athletic ahead of Harambee Stars defender Collins Sichenje’s first match.
Kenyan supporters have made demands of English Championship club Charlton Athletic over Harambee Stars defender Collins Sichenje, who might make his debut on Friday night.
Sichenje signed with the English club this week, and with Charlton due to face Queens Park Rangers on Friday (at 11 p.m. East African time), Kenyans want to see their own in the starting lineup.
Kenyans were adamant that the 22-year-old should be inserted from the start after the English team issued a matchday banner online.
One fan said, “Our boy better be on the Starting XI, if not, its a world war,” while another added, “Collins Sichenje: 1. On the matchday graphic ✅.”2. “Starting at 11 soon.”
Kenyans Want Sichenje in Starting XI
“We can confirm that the memo was received, read, highlighted, and actioned. Admin is a great listener. “We are looking forward to the game and the first XI,” another wrote.
“As we stroll through the Valley of Pure Football, we fear no evil. Please pray for QPR. They won’t believe it. Captain Sichenji takes the wheel.”
“If our boy Collins Sichenje is not in the line-up tonight, we gonna have a problem,” one Kenyan messaged, adding: “He has to start…….lazima aanze leo.”
“Let’s go. Don’t try to bench our boy.” Another participant emphasised the need of adhering to contract conditions.
Outrageous Demands from Kenyans
“Please note that, should Sichenje score an own goal, the teammates should apologise to him for making his work difficult,” a third Kenyan fan wrote.
“Admin, you’re learning quickly, nicely done! When our son scores his first goal. We want to put up a billboard of him 2.5 km away from the stadium, introducing him to English football. “Thank you.”
“He starts with his debut. No substitutions until the 85th minute or later. A shot off target is an assist. A shot on aim is a goal. “A goal is a holiday,” said another Kenyan fan.
