No trains at Southampton Central on Portsmouth FC derby day.

No trains will run to or from Southampton Central on the day when the Saints face Portsmouth FC at St Mary’s Stadium next month.

Countless CrossCountry, Great Western Railway, South Western Railway, and Southern lines will be impacted when the bustling station closes for scheduled vital maintenance work on September 14.

CrossCountry will replace trains with buses between Bournemouth and Southampton Airport Parkway.

Buses will also travel between Bournemouth and Eastleigh, as well as from Southampton Central to Eastleigh.

Great Western Railway’s Cardiff Central to Portsmouth Harbour trains will be diverted and will not stop at Southampton Central, with substitute buses running between Eastleigh and Southampton Central.

South Western Railway will operate a limited bus schedule for its Weymouth or Lymington Pier to Southampton Central route.

On Sunday, buses will run instead of trains between Bournemouth and Eastleigh, Bournemouth and Southampton Central, New Milton and Eastleigh, Lymington Pier and Brockenhurst, Southampton Central and Fareham, and Romsey and Eastleigh.

Southern’s Southampton Central to Brighton service will be changed to run between Brighton, Portsmouth, and Southsea, with buses replacing trains between Havant and Southampton Central on Sunday.
