Norwich City 2-0 NAC Breda: Ante Crnac pre-season reaction.
Norwich City forward Ante Crnac was pleased with the Canaries’ impressive pre-season finale, a 2-0 victory over NAC Breda at Carrow Road.
Crnac was instrumental in a comfortable victory over the Eredivisie club, opening the scoring early on and setting up Josh Sargent for a second just three minutes later.
He described the win as an ideal way to prepare for next Saturday’s Championship match against Millwall at the same venue, avoiding individual accolades in favour of focussing on the positives for his team as a whole.
“Of course we wanted to get into the new season with a win,” the coach said. “We accomplished that today.
I believe we played very well as a team. “Of course [it’s good to score], but I think the most important thing is that the team is happy, that we started the new season with a victory. “It was hard.
Obviously, NAC Breda is a very good team that plays in a very good league. It was difficult, but I believe we found our solutions, how to beat them, and won.”
City’s head coach, Liam Manning, and sporting director, Ben Knapper, have both stated their desire to return to the Premier League this season, with owner Mark Attanasio adding to the ambition during a flying Norfolk visit last month.
Crnac declined to add to the weight of expectation, preferring to take things one game at a time a week before the Lions visit.
“It’s too early to discuss it, but as a team, we know we want to be promoted. “We want that, but we’ll see,” he added. “The coach is telling us to enjoy the present moment rather than dwelling on the past or the future.
