Norwich City fans start petition to remove Ben Knapper.
Disgruntled Norwich City fans have begun a campaign to have Ben Knapper removed as sporting director.
Supporters have lost patience with the club’s hierarchy following a poor run of results on the pitch, which has left the club in the relegation zone.
Liam Manning was fired on Saturday, following the club’s eighth consecutive home defeat this season.

Knapper will remain in his position and head the search for Manning’s replacement. City fans have launched a petition on to get the 36-year-old removed from the club.
It has received more than 300 signatures, and the number is expected to climb.
Canaries supporter Bridget James started the petition because she believes Knapper has “overseen a series of disappointing, often baffling, decisions” at the club.
“Many NCFC fans, myself included, are exhausted and disillusioned by the continued reward of failure at the highest levels within our much-loved football club and demand change,” the petition’s title stated.
“This petition demands Ben Knapper’s immediate removal as Norwich City’s sporting director.

“It is imperative that he plays no part in appointing the club’s next head coach.” Knapper has been the target of fan ire, with hundreds clamouring for his dismissal outside Carrow Road following Saturday’s home defeat to Leicester City.
Owner Mark Attanasio is expected to be more involved than he was during Manning’s appointment process.
During a recent interview with BBC Radio Norfolk, Attanasio stated that Knapper would be held “accountable” for his performance. “I want to measure everyone at the appropriate time,” he told me. “Some of it depends on the severity of the downturn.”
