Norwich City: Manning on Mathias Kvistgaarden X-factor.

Liam Manning promises that Norwich City’s headline striker signing Mathias Kvistgaarden will get ‘fans out of their seats’.

The Danish international is set to make his Canaries debut on the Netherlands tour, which begins on Saturday morning with a double header against FC Volendam and then Zulte Waregem. The 23-year-old trained for the first time with his new teammates on Tuesday after joining from Brondby for £6.9 million.

City beat out a number of European clubs to sign the highly regarded Kvistgaarden.

“Naturally when you see the level of club he was linked with it’s a terrific one for us to be able to get done,” Manning, our coach, said. “I sat with him the other day, and he is an excellent character.

Someone who will excite the fans and get them out of their seats. He’s desperate to run in behind and score goals. “For a guy who isn’t the biggest, the number of goals he scored with his head says a lot about him.

He is only going to strengthen the group. “Credit to Lee (Dunn, head of recruitment) and obviously Ben (Knapper, sporting director) for the work done on that, I think it shows what we’re able to do at the club, in terms of providing that platform to attract players and for them to want to come here and play football. It can only help the team be stronger.”

Vladan Kovacevic, the new number one custodian, is also set to play on tour. The Serbian watched the first 3-1 friendly win over Northampton Town behind closed doors at Colney.

“It was just building him up. He has been training with Tone. Manning said, “Another training week and we’ll be ready for minutes this weekend.” “But he brings a lot of personality and character to the place.

This is what fans want to see, right? I don’t want to make robots. I don’t want to watch robot football. I want to be excited by the lads.

“That was a significant one of the messages following the initial friendly. The bare minimum is that we compete, run, and do that side of it, but we are not afraid to make mistakes; we are going to grab the game and leave everything out there. “There’s nothing worse, I believe, than looking in the mirror and thinking, ‘Maybe I could have done that, been braver in this moment, or taken a risk.'” That’s our job: to improve the success-to-failure ratio and support the lads.”
