Norwich fans storm ground in angry protests against board.
Norwich supporters launched angry protests against the club’s management, including an attempt to storm the directors’ entrance.
Fans were furious, with demonstrations and chants of “sack the board” and “we want our Norwich back” after the Canaries suffered their sixth consecutive defeat, dropping them to second from bottom in the Championship.
Police and security personnel attempted to keep furious supporters from charging towards the door after they smashed over barriers and set off green and yellow smoke flares.
The home crowd chanted “show your face” in reference to sporting director Ben Knapper.Disgruntled fans try to assault the directors’ gate at Carrow Road (Image: Newsquest). The 2-0 defeat against Hull prompted calls for the dismissal of ailing head coach Liam Manning.
Two hours after full time, some fans remained outside Carrow Road. “We just want to be heard,” they demanded.
Demonstrations were predicted against both the club’s on-field performance and controversial plans to relocate 3,000 local fans to accommodate away supporters. The club’s decision to temporarily halt stadium plans failed to quell the rising anger.

Prior to kickoff, a group of roughly 50 supporters screamed and hanged a banner demanding action on a fence outside the stadium.
The match was momentarily halted when some home fans tossed a handful of tennis balls onto the pitch, as coordinated by the 1902 fan organisation. After the final time, roughly 300 enraged fans gathered outside the executive entrance to the City Stand.
Tony Collins, 58, a matchgoer for over 40 years, said: “It simply cannot continue like this. We can only move in one direction, which is League One. They’ve both got to go – both Knapper and Manning. The owners need to have a serious rethink.”

Alex Burr, 26, of Great Yarmouth, who was at the forefront of the protest, said, “Bring back Delia, all is forgiven!”. Martin Smith, 32, who travels from Lincolnshire to attend matches, said:
“Attanasio made a huge error by not firing the board right away. He’s made everything worse by simply supporting a bunch of losers.”
Rachel Burgess, who was with her family, stated, “The atmosphere is terrible, and I can only see it getting worse to be honest.” They need to take action, yet they appear ignorant.”
