Bradford City team news

Unfortunately, Bradford City will be missing star forward Bobby Pointon for the game on Saturday.

Alexander confirmed that the eye-catching teenager had just had a shoulder injury. “Bobby’s been out on the grass today but non-competitive, a little bit of a passing drill but nothing further than that”

. Alex Pattison, another attacking midfielder, has also been ruled out for the trip to the Lamex Stadium. He left after 30 minutes due to an achilles injury.

For this weekend’s game, defenders Aden Baldwin and Curtis Tilt are still out injured. Tilt will be out for several months as he recovers from a hamstring injury sustained against Doncaster Rovers, while Baldwin is dealing with a calf ailment.

The possibility of defender Matthew Pennington returning is good news for BCAFC fans. Alexander revealed that the summer signing has returned to training after missing time due to a concussion.

Fellow forward Calum Kavanagh made his league debut last time out, looking to solidify his position in the side following previous shin injuries.

Predicted XI

(3-4-2-1)

Walker; Byrne, Pennington, McIntyre; Neufville, Metcalfe, Power, Touray; Sarcevic, Kavanagh; and Humphrys.

Sam Walker will remain in the Bradford City starting XI, with Pennington back in front of him, Neill Byrne and Tom McIntyre holding their positions, and Joe Wright dropping to the bench.

Josh Neufville will start on the right, and Ibou Touray on the left. Max Power, the central midfielder, will continue to captain the team.

He will be joined by Jenson Metcalfe, who replaced the injured Alex Pattison over the weekend, and Tommy Leigh, who provides a consistent option off the bench.

Humphrys is the odds-on favourite to start after scoring his last goal. Kavanagh and Sarcevic will aim to provide a danger behind him.

The match between BCAFC and Stevenage begins at 15:00 on Saturday.
