Pereira close to new Wolves deal despite four defeats

Pereira close to new Wolves deal despite four defeats.

Despite Wolves‘ terrible start this season, manager Vitor Pereira is close to signing a new contract.

The Portuguese’s contract expires at the end of the season, and an agreement is expected before this weekend. It demonstrates the club’s faith in Pereira, who succeeded Gary O’Neil in December.

Wolves, who play Leeds in the Premier League on Saturday, have lost their first four league games and are at the bottom of the standings. They defeated West Ham in the EFL Cup in August, but they risk becoming only the sixth Premier League team to lose their first five games.

Pereira took over with Wolves in the bottom three in December and led them to 16th and safety, 17 points clear of the relegation zone.

They won six consecutive Premier League games from March to April to clinch early survival, but they have not won in the top level since the end of that run, a 3-0 victory against Leicester.

Executive chairman Jeff Shi stated earlier this month that the club needs Pereira to stay. “Wolves need stability now – we need a coach to stay here and help us for a long time,” he replied. “Every coach need time and the jigsaw to be completed.

We should give the coach the time and players he requires to prepare for the season.”I believe that the squad and coach, as well as the chemistry and unity, are more crucial in defining this season. If you have that foundation, you’ll have a successful season.

If not, you may have a doubt. “Prior to Vitor’s arrival, the squad chemistry had some issues. This year, that problem is resolved. We have a great team spirit and an extremely committed team structure.”
