A passenger was hit by a train yesterday evening, causing significant delays.

Southern Rail announced that around 8 p.m. yesterday (Friday, October 31), a passenger was hit by a train between Worthing and Angmering. Passengers were advised not to leave the train unless told.

A spokeswoman for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called around 8 p.m. on Thursday (30 October) to reports of a casualty on the tracks at a level crossing near South Farm Road.”

“Officers responded with paramedics, and a victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

“The incident is not being investigated as suspicious.” personnel were halted between Brighton, Hove, and Angmering as emergency personnel dealt with the situation.

Services between Brighton and West Worthing, Brighton and Chichester, and Brighton and Portsmouth and Southsea have all been discontinued till further notice.

Trains between Brighton and Southampton Central could only run between Southampton Central and Littlehampton, and trains between London Victoria and Littlehampton could only go between London Victoria and Hove.

The delays persisted until midnight.
