Watford head coach Paulo Pezzolano says it is “not possible” to start games with the offensive strategy they used against Southampton.
The Hornets face Blackburn Rovers on Saturday after coming back from behind twice against the Saints to draw 2-2 before the international break.
Kwadwo Baah and Rocco Vata joined Luca Kjerrurmgaard and Nestory Irankunda in attack with more than 30 minutes remaining in the match, and Pezzolano’s goal is to strike a balance between that approach and the opening hour of the game, when they struggled to create opportunities.
He said, “Obviously, the second half was a little different. “It is impossible to do that throughout the game because you have no control over it.

We are satisfied with the players; they are learning and implementing our style of play, which includes many intricacies and nuances.
“We made the substitutions because we wanted to win the game, and we wanted to make an impression.
“But what the other players did in the first half – Edo Kayembe, Moussa Sissoko, and Luca – enabled us to do that. “They were well-organised and wore the opponent down a little.
“It’s about striking the perfect balance. Our biggest problem is to build a strong squad with those aggressive players on the pitch.
“The Hornets have five Championship games in the next four weeks, beginning with Saturday’s encounter at Millwall, followed by a home game against Hull, a trip to Portsmouth, and a match against Oxford.
