Plan to transform Hartlepool house into home for looked-after young people

Plan to transform Hartlepool house into home for looked-after young people.

Plans have been submitted to transform a property into a home for up to three looked-after youths.

Proposals have been made to the Hartlepool Borough Council planning department to alter 18 Dunston Road.

Resicare Alliance’s lawful development certificate application secures confirmation that the site’s specified use as a home for up to three looked-after young people is permitted under planning restrictions.

According to a supporting statement, the independent care provider “prides itself on ensuring the homes they provide are welcoming and warm places to live which encourage young people to flourish and grow”.

The property would serve as a “family home” for young people aged seven to 18, who would be in “full-time education” and have “a normal day-to-day routine as would be expected of any child”.

Staff would work in shifts, with two carers on-site overnight and “up to three” available during the day while the young people are present.
