QPR 1-4 Ipswich Town: Julien Stephan post-match reaction

QPR 1-4 Ipswich Town: Julien Stephan post-match reaction.

QPR manager Julien Stephan believes Ipswich Town’s early second-half goal was the difference in their 4-1 victory at Loftus Road.

The hosts were level at halftime as Rumarn Burrell equalised following George Hirst’s early header.

However, only two minutes after the restart, Marcelino Nunez scored a stunning free kick, which Stephan described as a painful blow.

Stephan informed the club website that the first-half reaction was quite positive.

“Their goal at the opening of the second half was mentally challenging; my impression is that after that, we tried to respond, but the third came too quickly, and the fourth killed us. “The last 20, 25 minutes were very difficult for us.”

Stephan evaluated the game as a whole, saying, “In my opinion, the first 60 minutes were not too bad.” “We tried a few things, especially in the first half, and I felt fine at halftime.

“In the end, we are disappointed, but we must remain united. It is critical that we focus on the next game on Wednesday, which will come quickly against another good team in Southampton.”

“That gives us the opportunity to improve our game and address some of the issues that made the difference today.

“This is a terrible situation, but we will learn a lot about the players, the squad, their ability to react, and how mentally we will be able to respond collectively. This is quite significant.”
