QPR boss backs ‘complete’ Millwall to compete for top six this season

QPR boss backs ‘complete’ Millwall to compete for top six this season.

QUEENS Park Rangers manager Julien Stéphan expects Millwall to challenge for a top-six berth this year, ahead of Saturday’s game against the Lions.

Alex Neil’s side remains unblemished on the road this season, having won twice and drawn twice.

They are currently in eighth place, one point behind the Rangers in sixth. QPR, meanwhile, have a similarly excellent Championship home record.

They are currently unbeaten at Loftus Road, with two victories and two draws. Stéphan believes that the shape of both teams creates a competitive tie. “They are a solid team, complete team, very aggressive,” according to Stéphan.

“They press hard, have good set-piece skills, and can generate danger. For me, they are an outsider for this year’s top six.

I believe it is a strong team, and I am confident that it will be a terrific game since it is a derby; kick-off is at 12.30 p.m. at home; they are on a roll, as are we.

“We respect all of this team – but we are ready to compete, we are ready because we have confidence and because we trust as well in our fans to push us for 95, 96, 97 minutes.”
