Leicester City: Former boss Marti Cifuentes endures nightmare return to QPR.

Report with full match highlights from the Sky Bet Championship encounter between On Saturday, Queens Park Rangers and Leicester City faced off at Loftus Road; Koki Saito, Richard Kone, Karamoko Dembele, and Amadou Mbengue scored as Foxes manager Marti Cifuentes endured a dreadful homecoming to QPR.

Marti Cifuentes had a nightmarish return to west London as QPR defeated Leicester 4-1. Under-fire Foxes manager Cifuentes, who returned to Loftus Road for the first time since his bitter departure from Rangers earlier this year, saw his team lose four goals in a first half that his previous club controlled.

Koki Saito scored in the second minute, then Richard Kone, Karamoko Dembele, and Amadou Mbengue extended the hosts’ lead.Silko Thomas equalised with his first goal for Leicester, knocking in the loose ball after Bobby De Cordova-Reid’s 82nd-minute penalty hit the post.

Cifuentes has had a rough start at Leicester since taking over in the summer, and despite an optimistic total of seven points from their previous three games, this outcome puts him under renewed pressure.

Julien Stephan, his successor at QPR, is having a great first season in English football; Rangers are in the play-offs, and this was their fourth consecutive home win.

They gained an early lead when Dembele crossed from the right, Rumarn Burrell stretched to nudge the ball towards goal, where it deflected off Saito at the far post and into the net.

Saito could have added a second after Dembele’s cross, but instead he lifted the ball over the bar from close range.

It was only a momentary reprieve for the visitors, as Kone’s first goal since early October made it 2-0 after 29 minutes, and Dembele added his first of the season four minutes later.

Jimmy Dunne headed Nicolas Madsen’s free kick from the right side of the halfway line to Kone, who held off Jordan Ayew before firing into the roof of the net.

Worse for the Foxes, Burrell collected Rhys Norrington-Davies’ low cross from the left and passed it to Dembele, who took a touch before smashing a left-footed effort past Jakub Stolarczyk and into the bottom corner.

In first-half stoppage time, what appeared to be an attempted cross from right-back Mbengue caught Stolarczyk off guard at the Polish goalkeeper’s near post. Leicester improved in the second half – they couldn’t have been worse – and were awarded a penalty kick after Ricardo Pereira’s strike was saved by Sam Field.

Thomas reacted quickly to De Cordova-Reid’s miss, but the goal provided little consolation for Leicester, who were soundly defeated.

The managers

QPR’s Julien Stephan:

“We need to talk about the players, their quality, mentality, and effort on the pitch. “All major players deserve praise.

But it’s a hazardous time for me, especially because I believe you’ll write a lot of great things about the players, and the next game will be another war.

“We have to savour the moment, but we also have to remember that each time it’s a new narrative, each game is unique, and we have to prepare with the same intensity and quality as this one. “We are doing well, but we are only halfway through the season. It’s a long voyage.

Leicester’s Marti Cifuentes:

“A pretty poor first half, and then it was probably the end of the game. It was simply an awful first half for me, the players, and our travelling fans.

“We were quite upset since we did not meet some of the requirements for competing in a game like this. It’s a very disappointing day. “Emotionally, it’s a difficult one. We need to move quickly.

It’s a marathon; we’re nearly halfway through the season, and we need to lift ourselves up. “Conceding a goal after only a few minutes was difficult for the team.

However, we must deal with a variety of situations and cannot expect everything to go our way.

“In this hunt for the identity that I’m referring to (having), it’s critical to deal with many conditions. We absolutely need to improve.

We need to improve our consistency, which is difficult in this league.” Super 6 has £250,000 up for grabs, and as always, it is absolutely free to play. Entries are due by 3 p.m. on Saturday.
