Cromer Beach. Parking there is typically simple, and a lovely, expansive beach is just a short stroll away. There are numerous eateries and, of course, the well-known Cromer Pier with its Pavillion Theatre, which presents a wide variety of performances throughout the year. Village, city, or town I began working in Norwich in September 1982 at Norwich Union, which is now Aviva, and I have always like the city’s vibe. When I consider how it has evolved throughout time, I am happy that it is now perceived as a more inclusive and diversified city. This has been made possible by the hospitals and universities, which have drawn more varied staff and student populations.

A place to eat Norwich’s Ivy. I appreciate that Norwich now has a similar menu to the original Ivy in London, where I used to frequently have to make reservations many weeks in advance. As a mother of a person with a severe peanut allergy, I can attest to the staff’s excellent grasp of managing allergies and their ability to provide unique extras when the meal is a celebration.

Pub There isn’t a pub in our village. Rather, our local, Heathlands Social Club, is located in Blofield Heath. It offers a variety of events, such as music, bingo, and two annual beer festivals. It is a members-only society with taster subscriptions available for anybody who want to give it a try. It can take some time for people to get to know you, much as in many rural villages, but the committee members and staff always make you feel welcome.

Attraction or excursion Taking a day boat cruise on the Norfolk Broads from Wroxham is a popular summertime activity. Salhouse Broad is a popular halt along the River Bure. Unless you find yourself in the middle of a sailing race, which has happened sometimes, a journey on the Broads is often peaceful, timeless, and beneficial to the soul. Purchase Jarrolds in Norwich must be the culprit. In addition to the wine bar and the amazing seafood restaurant, The Bay, which is always a nice spot to meet friends and catch up, it’s a terrific place to acquire makeup, gifts and clothing.

Stroll Right now, my fave walks are in the Hemblington neighbourhood where I live. There is nothing better than slipping on my Wellington boots and walking away, whether it’s for a little stroll at sunset later in the day or a lunchtime walk while working from home.
