Regis Le Bris on ‘collective energy’ in Sunderland dressing room.

REGIS Le Bris believes Sunderland’s “collective energy” has propelled them through the early parts of the Premier League season.

The Black Cats rebuilt their team with new acquisitions in the summer, but Le Bris claims the newcomers quickly embraced the club’s character.

And he claims that everyone in the Sunderland dressing room, whether long-serving squad members or summer newcomers, has “the same desire to become better players and a better team”.

Sunderland’s summer recruitment campaign saw them sign players from Africa, South America, and around Europe. And Le Bris claims his new-look group rapidly bonded on and off the pitch.

“We’ve kept the official language, English, but for most of them, they are well advanced in English communication,” revealed the coach’s assistant. “A cohesive energy has naturally formed, owing mostly to shared objectives.

“There are always quite diverse stories, with Granit on one side and Noah Sadiki on the other. One is 33 years old, while the other is 20. Despite this, they both enjoy playing football, connecting with one another, growing together, and sharing a desire to improve as players and teams.

“In reality, the shared objectives are quite well defined, implying that the cohesion took hold rapidly. I mentioned it right away when I came. I believe we need to get to know our club. “Show these fans, this community, that we support Sunderland.

And if this is the case, they will give it to us. And it has been the combined efforts of all of our players since the beginning. “One of the earliest was either Enzo [Le Fee] or Wilson [Isidor].

Regardless of their past status, they sacrificed everything for the team. They worked really hard and exhibited humility. And in exchange, there is good togetherness.”

Sunderland are fourth after a strong start to the Premier League season, and the Black Cats return to play next weekend when they travel to struggling Fulham. Le Bris stated, “I believe we still have opportunity for improvement in several areas.

“If we defend effectively, I believe we are laying a solid foundation for our confidence, build-up, and so on. So, for me, deciding how we want to defend together is always a priority. “It’s not simply a question of tactics; it’s also about mentality and unity. A forward must work like a defender.

“When you create this workflow, I think you can set a good foundation for the offensive phase.”
