Report claiming Birmingham midfielder ‘turned down Aberdeen’ to join Port Vale wide of the mark.
The 21-year-old turned out a transfer to Scotland to join the Valiants on a three-year contract.
According to reports, Aberdeen and Hibernian are interested in signing Birmingham offensive midfielder George Hall during the summer transfer window.
According to Football League World, the 21-year-old rejected offers from Aberdeen and Hibernian in favour of a three-year contract with Port Vale.
However, the Press and Journal understands that the player was offered to Aberdeen, but the Dons chose to pursue other transfer targets throughout the window.
Hall, who has represented England at under-18 and under-19 levels, scored two goals in 41 games for Birmingham and was named the club’s young player of the season in 2022-23.
A series of ailments have limited his playing time in recent seasons.
The Birmingham City youth academy graduate scored three goals in 22 outings while on loan at Walsall last season.
He could make his Port Vale debut as they face Leyton Orient in English League One today. Before departing Birmingham, Blues manager Chris Davies said:
“Whichever club signs George will make a smart decision because he looks strong and fit, and he has good quality. “He can play at a good level, no doubt.”
