Section of A27 shut after serious crash.
A section of the A27 in East Sussex has been shut following what police have called a “serious collision”.
Shortly before 04:30 BST on Saturday, National Highways said the A27 had been shut in both directions between Falmer and Lewes because of the crash.
At about 07:00, National Highways said the eastbound carriageway had reopened, but added that the westbound road remained shut.
Police have asked drivers to avoid the area.
Sussex Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service have been contacted for more information.
