A parking company is caught in a dispute over a third unauthorised site in Sheffield.
Sheffield City Council has issued a ‘planning infringement notice’ for a car park on Broomspring Lane in Broomhall that does not have planning clearance.
It is run by Bank Park and owned by Ruth Residential Properties, whose CEO, Heather Stevenson, also co-owns the Within Reason gift shop on Devonshire Street.
Residents banded together in September last year to oppose Broomspring Lane, citing worries about pollution, traffic congestion, and the risk of vehicles to walkers, particularly children.

Failure to react within 21 days is a violation of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990. Ms Stevenson has until today, September 10, to answer.
Earlier this month, Councillor Ben Miskell, chair of the transport, regeneration, and climate policy committee, stated that unlawful vehicle parks obstructed homes on brownfield sites and promised to “relentlessly pursue” individuals who broke the laws.
The city council has taken enforcement proceedings against Bank Park for two more unauthorised car parks on brownfield properties, on Ecclesall Road and Sylvester Gardens.
The council intends to build 14 sites in the green belt to achieve government housing targets, arguing that it is obligated to do so because all existing brownfield sites will not be sufficient. Ms Stevenson and Bank Park were contacted for comment.
