Skipton teenager Lola Hird commits to Bradford City

Skipton teenager Lola Hird commits to Bradford City.

A TEENAGER from Skipton has signed a contract with Bradford City Women’s Academy for the coming season.

Lola Hird, 13, spent last season with both the Bantams and Premier League giants Liverpool, but she has now committed to the West Yorkshire club for the upcoming season.

Hird, a Skipton Academy student, has been approached by Liverpool, Sheffield United, Blackpool, Burnley, and Blackburn Rovers for the 2025/26 season, but she has decided to stay true to her roots and remain with Bradford City.

She will compete in the Junior Premier League with the goal of playing for City Women’s first team in a few years.

Hird continued to play for local boys’ team Sutton Juniors alongside Bradford and Liverpool last season, and the team was promoted mid-season as a result of their impressive performances. She also continued to train for Skipton’s Select Football Academy, which offers an excellent ladder for boys and girls looking to advance from the grassroots level.

Pennine Vehicle Repairs, a local Land Rover and Jaguar specialist based in Skipton, has kindly sponsored Hird’s journey.
