Sparta Rotterdam sign Twente winger on permanent basis

Sparta Rotterdam sign Twente winger on permanent basis.

Mitchell van Bergen has joined Sparta Rotterdam from FC Twente. The 25-year-old winger joined the Spangen team permanently after spending the previous season on loan.

Van Bergen has committed to Het Kasteel for four years, which means his contract will expire in the summer of 2029. Gerard Nijkamp, the club’s technical director, discussed the transfer with the media.

After the successful six months, it was obvious that we wanted to keep Mitchell, but at first, this was impossible. We bring pace and energy to our team with Mitchell, who has already contributed to multiple goals in his first stint at Sparta.

Van Bergen has made 14 appearances in the Eredivisie and scored three goals in the six months since he first joined Sparta. The move started after the attacker was left out of Twente’s squad for the game against PSV last weekend.
