Swansea City confirm star’s exit as club sweat on three deals with hours to go.
The club has confirmed another loan exit, but they are still trying to complete additional transactions before Monday’s deadline.
Swansea City have revealed that Ollie Cooper will join Wigan Athletic on a season-long loan.
The 25-year-old joins the League One club in search of more playing time following the signings of Mark Stamenic, Malick Yalcouye, and Ethan Galbraith this summer.
“I’ve had chats with Ollie. “It’s a World Cup year, and he might need regular football,” Swansea manager Alan Sheehan stated ahead of the midfielder’s departure.

“He is a good lad, a good trainer and that will be ultimately up to Ollie.” Cooper follows Joel Coterie in securing a loan exit on deadline day, with Swansea still hoping to complete three incoming transfers.
Striker Adam Idah is hoping to transfer from Celtic for roughly £6 million, with sources close to the negotiations convinced the transaction would be completed by Monday evening’s deadline, despite the Scottish club’s race to find a replacement.
The club had wanted to sign Anderlecht’s Kasper Dolberg, but that bid may have been hijacked by late interest from Dutch heavyweights Ajax.
A medical has already been completed, but Swansea are awaiting final confirmation before unveiling the Irishman as a Swans player.
Meanwhile, City are also looking to complete a loan move for Strasbourg left-back Iche Samuels-Smith before the 7pm deadline.
A move has already been agreed, with Swansea again racing against the clock to confirm the move, which would see the former Chelsea prospect come in as much-needed cover for Josh Tymon.
The Swans are also keen on securing a winger, with Burnley’s Manuel Benson heavily linked with a move, although Championship rivals Birmingham City have also been cited as possible admirers.
The team expressed late interest in Hull City winger Abu Kamara, but he is now poised to join Spanish club Getafe.
There had previously been reports that a move to Spain could be in risk due to issues with his registration with the Spanish FA.
However, after completing his physical and signing off on a loan move before the weekend, those concerns are considered to have been resolved, and he is now set to complete the transfer to Madrid.
