The Broadway, Wimbledon stabbing- Man in 30s arrested.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 40-year-old man was stabbed to death in Wimbledon town centre.
Met Police officers, the London Ambulance Service, and London’s Air Ambulance arrived at The Broadway at 00:37am on February 22nd in response to reports of a stabbing.
A man was found with stab wounds and pronounced deceased on the scene. Later that night, officers detained a guy in his thirties on suspicion of murder.
He remains in police detention. Homicide officers from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are conducting the inquiry and are not looking for anyone else at this time.
It is being handled as an isolated event. The victim’s next of kin has been notified and is being assisted by professional officers.
Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley, who is handling the inquiry, stated, “Our thoughts are with the victim’s family.” “This is a horrible act of violence in the midst of a bustling town, and we recognise the impact on the local community.
“While we have made an arrest, anyone who observed the incident or has information should come forward. “No detail is too small.”
