This is how much has been spent removing flags in East Sussex.
More than £16,000 has been spent on flag removal in East Sussex.
Following a FOI request made by former councillor Sean Macleod, East Sussex County Council disclosed that £16,288 was spent removing flags prior to January 12.
The total is likely to have increased since flags have appeared and been removed in recent weeks, particularly in Lewes.
Flags were hoisted on multiple occasions in Brighton, Seaford, Newhaven, and Peacehaven during the summer, although activity has slowed over the winter.
